Shown below are some web mapping presentations of key datasets help in the WOSSAC Archive.

Dudley Stamp Land Utilisation

The 1930s the Land of Britain Survey launched by Professor Dudley Stamp was carried out by school age students recording field observations. This survey was arranged by each English country and within WOSSAC reports such as Bedfordshire (WOSSAC ID 44800) are archived and available. The map output was at 1:63360 scale and coloured examples are Gloucester and Forest of Dean (WOSSAC ID 993), or Bridgewater (WOSSAC ID 1066). The WOSSAC data set currently only includes the map cover for the South West of England. There is however a National map of Britain in two sheets at scale of 1:400,00 (WOSSAC ID 989 and WOSSAC ID 990).

Please wait while the large map files load. You can then pan and zoom round the country to see the landuses recorded on the map.
