Summary Abstract:	This Book, in Portuguese, refers to the phytogeographic map of Angola and presents a comprehensive descriptive memoir in which the main vegetation types & subtypes are identified, analysed and described. Before the vegetation is described, some general matters are discussed, particularly the different schools of thought and their nomenclature, which have been developed in other countries; and a justification for the methods used in the present work is given, and the "Toulouse" system of colours is discussed. In the Book, 32 main vegetation types are described, together with 100 vegetation subtypes. For each of the vegetation types the description includes information about their characteristics, location, areal distribution, physiography, geology, dominant soil, and climate. The Book contains 55 black & white photos of representative vegetation types & subtypes; and 3 text bound general maps (but not a single phytogeographic map of Angola). There is a short summary in English.
