Summary Abstract:	This paper, in Portuguese, was prepared to provide updated information on the soils of a large Central Angolan Region, covering areas of the Districts of Cuanza Sul, Malanje, Lunda, Huambo, Bie, Moxico, Huila and Cuando-Cubango. Since the entire region was already covered by the systematic reconnaissance surveys, undertaken in the 1950's-1960's, for the General Soil Map of Angola (reports published as part of the series "Memorias da Junta de Investigacoes do Ultramar"), there was no need for fieldwork; thus this paper is based only on deskwork to compile, update, correlate and adjust existing and published data. Soil "Groupings" are broadly described in the paper, including their physico-chemical and mineralogical characteristics. The paper includes dyeline maps, folded & bound into the text: 1. Geology, Lithology & Geomorphology (1:3M); 2 to 7 various thematic maps (1:5M); 8. Vegetation (1:3M) & two Draft Pedological Maps at 1:1M (legend has no codes or numbers). See WOSSAC #25488
