| Summary Abstract: | This item is a handsome hardbacked volume of 410,pages, published in Washington DC in 1928 . The authors are Bennett, H.H and Allison R.V. This is a legacy document with a chapter on soil classification by Curtis Marbut. The work is an output from a cooperative project linking the US Bureau of Soils and the Tropical Plant Research Foundation, also based in Washington. The Book is accompanied by a 'Soil Map of Cuba' at scale 1:800,000, which is folded and held in a separated folder numbered #45005. There is also a sheet of detailed soil classification described as a "Key to the Principal Soils of Cuba'. The Cuba Sugar Club sponsored the project. The map is being scanned coloured Soil Map at scale 1:800,000 covering the whole country dated 1928, prepared by the US Bureau of Soils working with the Tropical Plant Research Foundation. The surveyors are Bennett, H.H and Allison R.V. There is a comprensive soil legend on the face of the map. |
