SoilPIC - Soils Photographic Archive
The WOSSAC project holds and manage
an exciting new initiative between BSSS and Cranfield University - SoilPIC,
a soils photographic image archive of many thousands of images. Implemented
as a managed 'wiki' website at http://www.soilsworldwide.net,
this initiative forms a new sister website to Wossac which will become a
focal point for the receipt and dissemination of a wide variety of high-quality
photographs relating to soil and the soil-environment. These images are made
available to scholars and interested parties.
We are continuing to gather, scan and publish materials and the next stage will be collating the images into categories as indicated below. Please contact us with any comments.

Contributing to SoilPIC
If you would like to contribute some of your soils-related photographic collection to share with other SoilPIC users we would like to hear from you. In order to expedite the acceptance of photographs to the site, please will you complete and return the SoilPIC donor agreement form. Photos, and associated descriptive metadata can be accepted in most electronic formats. Descriptive metadata should be provided for any images provided to assist identification and description of the images. We are using a 'metadata' scheme based on the Dublin Core standard.
Here is an example of the descriptive data required and a template that can be used, with a record completed for each photo contributed.
